Taylor Norton is a Senior BFA Candidate at the University of Michigan, where she is studying Theatre Performance, with a concentration in Directing. So far at the University of Michigan, Taylor has directed many shows, and become involved with multiple student organizations such as “Michigan Performance Outreach Workshop” for whom she maintains a website, and Basement Arts, a theatre company for which she currently serves as Artistic Director for the 2013-14 school year.

Taylor graduated from the St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists in 2010. During her time at the Conservatory, she was invited to assist on local professional productions in the Twin Cities with members of the SPCPA faculty. She has worked on productions at the Bryant-Lake Bowl,  Upright Egg Theatre Company, the Childrens Theatre Company, The Southern Theatre, The British American Drama Academy, and Youth Performance Company.

In 2009, Taylor was selected to be an evaluator for the Minnesota Ivey Awards, where she enjoyed reviewing plays all around the Twin Cities. During that year, Taylor also participated in an intensive workshop with Double Edge Theatre Company in Ashfield, Massachussets, where she worked with Rena Mirecka, founding member of Jerzy Grotowski’s Teatr Laboratorium.
